Shan is the Global Head of MedTech Digital at Johnson & Johnson. He leads the development and execution of a unified digital ecosystem and product portfolio to help deliver focused intelligence and more personalized healthcare.
Shan works across Johnson & Johnson MedTech (JJMT) to support a digital-backed portfolio of products and solutions and the JJMT digital ecosystem that connects medtech data for improved insights across the patient journey. He has previously worked with large companies like GE and Baker Hughes to develop strategic software offerings and help customers navigate the complexities of implementation and adoption.
Under Shan’s leadership, Johnson & Johnson MedTech develops its’ ecosystem infrastructure, scales software and analytics capabilities, operationalizes technology partnerships and M&A ambition, and strengthens technology acumen and digital talent globally.
Shan previously served as Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Baker Hughes Companies in Houston, Texas. As CDO, Shan was responsible for the global software engineering organization that delivered digital solutions enabling remote operations, AI, and data management for some of the largest energy operators in the world. During his tenure, Shan designed and built an enterprise-wide digital franchise that laid a digital foundation on common design, data, and change management principles.
Prior to his role as CDO, Shan held transformative roles across GE Company. He has worked across 15+ countries and across roles in sales, finance, M&A, and digital.
While he is a proud Canadian – he also pledges allegiance to the German soccer team (he was born in Berlin), favors Middle Eastern cuisine (he grew up in Syria), and loves the ocean (his heritage hails from the island nation of Sri Lanka). He has a BA in Applied Economics from Queen’s University, Canada and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from McMaster University, Canada.
